Terminations

RFMW announced design and sales support for MECA low PIM, 380-2700 MHz terminations. PIM (Passive Intermodulation) is the non-linear mixing of 2 or more frequencies in a passive (or linear) device creating poor system performance in equipment such as distributed antenna systems (DAS). MECA’s Low PIM (-161dBc typ.) 10, 50, 100 & 250 Watt terminations offer rugged construction and excellent performance for in-building or tower top systems.

Webinar on GaN Power Amplifier Design 

Balanced amplifier approaches are popular in RF applications due to a number of implicit advantages of the topology. Using one of these approaches in the microwave region, however, has been challenging because of the difficulty in creating an anti-phase power splitter/combiner, or balun. In this webinar, presenter Dominic FitzPatrick of PoweRFul Microwave demonstrates the use of NI AWR Design Environment to create a 50-percent bandwidth planar balun and simulate a 200 W gallium arsenide (GaN) transistor for a high-power push-pull amplifier.

Originally designed and built by Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.  Lansdale has single-source rights to both globally market and continue to manufacture Motorola’s line of PLL (Phase Lock Loop) Circuits.
